Pennsylvania State University (Matson Museum of Anthropology)

The Matson Museum of Anthropology at Pennsylvania State University will improve collections stewardship by cataloging its collection of archaeological and ethnographic artifacts. Informed by recommendations from a Collections Assessment for Preservation (CAP) report, staff will rehouse collection items and prepare them for an upcoming move into a new location. As a result of the project, staff will digitize collections to create a reference resource in the form of a public-facing collections webpage and search portal. The main beneficiaries of project will be students, faculty, and public researchers who will have increased access to the collection through expanded public programming, exhibits, and online resources.
