Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (Pennsylvania National Guard Military Museum)

The Pennsylvania National Guard Military Museum will clean and digitize approximately 131 reels of 16mm film in its collection. The film footage documents 100 years of training, events, and activities of the Pennsylvania National Guard. Digitization of the film collection is a high priority as it is at risk of being lost due to rapid deterioration. Many reels are also flammable celluloid film and pose a risk to the collection and staff. The museum will contract with a specialist to clean and digitize the film. The project will result in the preservation of the film footage and improved collections care.
