University of Wisconsin Oshkosh (Barlow Planetarium)

The Barlow Planetarium at the University of Wisconsin will expand its programming and student outreach by bringing the planetarium experience to schools and the local community. Barlow staff will purchase a portable planetarium, train staff in its use, and schedule and provide science-based astronomy shows for area schools and at public gatherings. The project will expand science education while providing a fun learning experience for students who are currently unable to visit the planetarium due to distance and limited access to transportation. The planetarium will extend its reach and build capacity by offering engaging astronomy programming outside the confines of its building. The ultimate beneficiaries of this project are students in rural and northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula school districts, as well as the local community.
