Big Car

Big Car will increase accessibility to its exhibitions and educational programs for the residents of South Indianapolis with a focus on reaching the growing Spanish-speaking population. The interdisciplinary team will work with local and international artists to offer artist talks, workshops, and community engagement programs to supplement four exhibitions. The content will also be broadcast through the museum-run FM radio station that is also available through online platforms. The sound pieces — shared in Spanish and English — will allow people to hear directly from a diverse array of notable artists from around the world. By removing the physical, cultural, and linguistic barriers, visitors and listeners will feel welcomed in the gallery spaces, and have access to bilingual programs and materials.
