Log Number: IGSM-253209-OMS-23

The Danforth Art Museum at Framingham State University will rehouse and improve the safety of objects in its permanent collection of over 3,600 works of art. Museum staff will work with a curatorial fellow to implement the collection preservation and accessibility project. The first phase of the project will address the archival rehousing of objects, including sculptures and portraits. The second phase will improve the safety of objects for display by replacing hanging materials and adding protective backings. The third phase will improve storage specifically for frames in the collection. Increased safety and accessibility of collections in storage will benefit staff, researchers, and college classes.
