Heurich House Museum

The Heurich House Museum will expand its public programs in order to reach audiences currently excluded from museum tours. Project activities will include creation of self-guided tour materials accessible via QR codes, installation of tactile components in the galleries, and translation of the English language materials to Spanish and German. Museum staff will engage with a teacher-in-residence and a part-time museum interpretation consultant to develop lesson plans for in-gallery activities, and to plan and execute Beta test experiences and surveys. As a result, museum visitors will have access to physical and digital interpretive products including a map of exhibit rooms, visual labels that interpret the museum’s exhibit rooms, images, and voice recordings to assist the visually impaired.
