Informed by the findings of a Conservation Assessment for Preservation (CAP) report, the Pinal County Historical Society will hire a part-time collections manager to work with paid interns on project activities that will include a comprehensive inventory and an update their collections records. As a result of the project, staff will improve collection stewardship and make recommendations for future collections care, including long-term planning and deaccessioning. Beneficiaries of the project will be the local community of Florence, Arizona, which includes members of the Tohono O’odham Nation, and Mexican and African American populations.
