Tri-Cities Historical Museum

Log Number: IGSM-252061-OMS-22

The Tri-Cities Historical Museum will create a disaster response plan and disaster response kits for the museum and its collection of historical objects. In response to previous incidents, including a fire at the museum in 2003 and damage caused by a storm in 2018, the museum will plan and implement disaster training sessions for staff. Led by the curator of collections and a certified Heritage Emergency First Responder and firefighter, museum staff will receive trainings on how to rescue artifacts and respond to disasters associated with water, fire, and other incidents. Staff will compile disaster response kits and will plan and write a disaster response plan, from which they can replicate training sessions on an annual basis.
