Animas Museum

Log Number: IGSM-251469-OMS-22

The Animas Museum will analyze, catalog, and preserve its collection of ancestral Pueblo pottery for an in-person and online exhibit. This project will involve purchasing collections processing supplies and exhibit cases, cataloging items, and engaging a conservator to clean and restore pieces identified for conservation care. Once this work is complete, the Animas Museum’s exhibit team will update the pottery exhibit in the Native American Gallery as well as a concurrent online exhibit. Outcomes of this project will include properly identified, cataloged, and cared for artifacts being more accessible to the public and an increase in the knowledge of ancestral Puebloan pottery and history to benefit the anthropological community, Indigenous populations, and the general public.
