Art Center of the Bluegrass

The Art Center of the Bluegrass will expand its free field trip program and provide arts education experiences to 4,000 elementary and middle school students in rural Central Kentucky. In collaboration with teachers and school administrators, the Art Center will develop programs that support the K–8 curriculum of partner school districts in Boyle, Lincoln, Mercer, and Garrard counties. By supplementing the field trips with transportation support, this project will reduce financial and geographic barriers that prevent many students in the region from accessing arts programs. Students will gain an increased understanding of fundamental art concepts, an increased interest in and appreciation for the artwork on display in the museum, and increased confidence in their own abilities as artists.
