Jewish Federation of Ulster County (Reher Center for Immigrant Culture and History)

The Reher Center for Immigrant Culture and History will create, pilot, and evaluate field trips and in-class lessons for over five hundred 2nd and 8th grade students. Engaging with the stories of the historic bakery on site, the Reher Center programming will connect students to immigrant experiences from local communities of the Mid-Hudson Valley, both past and present. The Reher Center will work with educators, teachers, and an evaluator to generate age-appropriate tours and digital lesson plans on the topic of present day and historic immigration in the Hudson River Valley that will inform the development of their educational programming. Student responses to the programming will be displayed in an exhibition on site.
