Triton Museum of Art

Log Number: IGSM-249678-OMS-21

The Triton Museum of Art will catalogue and digitally document Native American art and artifacts held in their collections. Representative of a vast array of indigenous material cultures circa 900 to 1990 from the Southwest, California, and the Pacific Northwest, 350 objects will be inventoried by staff and a collections intern. This project will make possible future exhibition planning, research, object loans, and assessment for conservation treatments. In addition, the project will make information about works in the collection more accessible to the public, including Native American lineal descendants and tribal representatives in concert with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) Program.
