Log Number: IGSM-249486-OMS-21

The Alabama Museum of Natural History at the University of Alabama will rehouse, digitize, and image the historic invertebrate paleontology and type collections. The paleontology collection is one of the largest components of the University of Alabama Museums collection, consisting of at least 500,000 specimens, representing 500 million years of time. Four graduate students from the university’s Museum Studies program will be recruited to assist the project, providing career development opportunities. Enhanced accessibility to the collections will benefit museum and university faculty, staff, and students as well as national and international researchers and students.
