Museum of Craft and Design

The Museum of Craft and Design will create and distribute free, multilingual instructional art kits (Mobile MakeArt Kits) to over 9,000 people in the Bay Area, with an emphasis on reaching children and families in communities acutely affected by COVID-19. They will collaborate with local BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) artists to create the MakeArt Kits and partner with local libraries, community organizations, and other museums to hold MakeArt Kit distribution events. These hands-on art experiences will encourage creativity, connection, and knowledge of craft and design, in addition to supporting the work of partner organizations and providing employment and exposure for BIPOC artists and designers.
