Tudor Place Historic House and Garden
Log Number: IGSM-249243-OMS-21
Tudor Place Historic House and Garden will assemble and share a collection of resources related to the enslaved individuals who lived and worked at this and associated properties to present a more complete and accurate portrayal of their lives, the history of Tudor Place, and urban slavery in Washington, DC. Project activities include hiring a project manager to collect resources related to enslaved people at Tudor House and partner institutions, connect with descendants of enslaved individuals, and create a temporary exhibit and interpretive programming incorporating the newly collected sources. Through this project, Tudor Place will engage and serve a more diverse audience through tours and lectures that broaden the understanding of urban slavery in the context of American History.
