Log Number: IGSM-245869-OMS-20
The University of Alabama's Alabama Museum of Natural History will rehouse and digitize the Chermock Butterfly Collection. The collection consists of approximately 30,500 specimens, including some 18,500 pinned and 12,000 papered, all dating from the 1930s to 1960s. The project team will purchase Cornell drawers and unit trays to properly rehouse the collection. Under the supervision of a project director, three undergraduate students will inventory the collection and create digital images and related labelling. The project will improve the management and care of the collection and make it accessible to broad audiences.
