Star-Spangled Banner Flag House
Log Number: IGSM-245551-OMS-20
The Star-Spangled Banner Flag House will craft a new interpretive plan using research and visitor experience data to include more equitable, diverse, and inclusive stories in the broader narrative of interpretation surrounding the creation of the Star-Spangled Banner flag and Baltimore, Maryland, history. The Flag House will gather stories of female apprentices, free and enslaved African American women and children, and Eastern European and Italian immigrants who lived and worked in the historic Flag House from 1807 until 1927. The visitor experience will connect audiences with more diverse stories and themes that promote critical thinking.
