Log Number: IC-22-11-0092-11

The Illinois Institute of Technology Archives will conserve a handmade scrapbook associated with The New Bauhaus, started in Chicago by Bauhaus master László Moholy-Nagy in 1937. The 37-page book, believed to have been created by Moholy-Nagy himself, includes news clippings, tear sheets about the school, the academic catalogue, program announcements, and a letter from Walter Gropius recommending Moholy-Nagy as director of the school. The book has a custom-made fabric-covered case with lower case letter "b" on front in silver metal. When conserved, the scrapbook can be made available once again to students, researchers, and others interested in The New Bauhaus (predecessor of IIt's Institute of Design) and Moholy-Nagy.
