The California State University East Bay University Archives and Special Collections will use grant funds to preserve the Jensen Family Collection of historically significant materials that document the early immigrant and agricultural history of Alameda County. The funds will be used to remove letters and manuscript pages from improper encapsulations and to re-house the entire collection in appropriate archival boxes and enclosures. Access to the collection will be improved by converting the inaccessible box lists to an online finding aid. The grant will allow for the purchase of a data logger to document temperature and humidity data, the analysis of which will enable better understanding and control over the macro-environment of the collection.
