Log Number: IC-22-11-0018-11
The Holocaust, Genocide and Human Rights Center at Brookdale Community College will use grant funds to purchase an archival textile box and an ultraviolet-protected locked storage display case. The case will help preserve a dress worn by concentration camp prisoner Catherine Woolf at Auschwitz-Birkenau and then at Stutthof. Ms. Woolf was deported with her husband Herman and her son John to the Auschwitz-Birkenau killing center during the Hungarian deportations in the spring of 1944. She went through the dehumanizing process of having all her belongings taken, her body shaved, and her arm tattooed with a number and then received her prison "dress."
