City of Palo Alto (Palo Alto Junior Museum and Zoo)

Log Number: IC-21-11-0124-11

The Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo will purchase archival supplies and hire a contractor to re-house their insect and spider collection, which consists of 1,560 diverse specimens, such as beetles, butterflies, bees, ants, wasps, dragonflies, and spiders. Most of the specimens were collected between the 1930s and 1970s and are significant to the community because many were collected locally or donated by local collectors. Once re-housed, the collection will advance the educational goals of the museum and zoo, supporting an expansion of school outreach programs.
