La Salle University (La Salle University Art Museum)
Log Number: IC-21-11-0112-11
The La Salle University Art Museum will use grant funds to re-mat and re-glaze twelve drawings by artists from the sixteenth to the twentieth century, including works from Edgar Degas, Anders Zorn, Cecilia Beaux, and Francois Claudius Compte-Calix. Given the aesthetic appeal of the historical frames in which they are currently mounted, the museum plans to re-use the frames, all of which are appropriately sealed, non-acidic, and otherwise in excellent condition, and to replace scratched Plexiglas and old window glass with new ultraviolet, filtering conservation glazing. The museum seeks to ensure that these significant works will be available for future generations and can once again be exhibited and shared with students, scholars, and the general public.
