High Desert Museum
Log Number: IC-21-11-0068-11
The High Desert Museum will hire a conservator to undertake treatment of one of its most unique and iconic objects, a mid-nineteenth-century stagecoach. The DeMoss Stagecoach was built by the Abbott & Downing Company of Concord, New Hampshire. It is a six-passenger overland coach and is viewed by more than 150,000 visitors annually. Conservation work will be implemented at the museum, so it will provide an important interpretive opportunity for visitors to learn more about the coach's history and observe some of the conservation techniques employed in the proper care of museum exhibits.
