Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians

The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians will purchase archival material to create custom storage mounts for 30 Native American baskets. These baskets were handmade from black ash, sweet grass, reeds, and other natural materials and represent the history of the community and the individuality of the weaver. The tribe will also create brochures that highlight the project activities, as well as provide information to the public on how to properly care for and store Native American baskets.
