Beloit College (Wright Museum of Art, Beloit College)
Log Number: IC-21-11-0013-11
The Wright Museum of Art at Beloit College will use grant funds to clean and conserve two important nineteenth-century portraits. Painted by Caroline van der Meulen Tank, wife of Green Bay railroad entrepreneur and Moravian missionary Niels Otto Tank, the paintings document Caroline's lineage in Holland before immigrating to Wisconsin. Following conservation, the paintings will be installed in the Wanda Hollensteiner gallery for exhibition, and the treatment work will be highlighted in the museum's annual fall newsletter.
