Newark Museum of Art
Log Number: IC-05-11-0204-11
The Newark Museum will move approximately 1,800 objects in its jewelry collection into customized conservation-appropriate cabinetry. The collection consists of European and American jewelry dating from the 14th century to the modern day and is one of the few in the nation that documents the history of jewelry. The project will protect and preserve the collection and make it more readily available for study and review by scholars. In addition, it will facilitate the development of new public exhibitions and will be used to educate the public about the importance of conservation activities to ensure that objects from the past can be enjoyed by future generations.
