Middle Border Museum and Oscar Howe Art Center (Dakota Discovery Museum)

The Dakota Discovery Museum will improve the current storage of its two-dimensional works of art through the installation of a sliding rack hanging art storage system and flat cabinet shelf storage. Museum staff will install new handing hardware, security hardware, and backing boards where necessary. This storage upgrade will prevent further and potential damage to frames, glass, or the surface of works of art; allow staff to more safely and effectively access works of art for research, educational, and exhibition programming; and will provide a secure environment for compromised or damaged works of art until they can receive conservation treatment.
