$50,000 to install a new stainless steel "Phantom" mesh for the museum's aviary, which houses their live song and shorebird collection. The new netting will address the issues of invading animals, potential animal escapes, and degradation due to time and weather. $900 for the development of bi-lingual signage to inform visitors of the reasons for the Aviary closure, issues of bird survival and the importance of the Aviary to conservation of the museum's living bird collection. Also, public presentations will be offered on conservation topics including the process and necessity of replacing the Avian netting, issues of bird survival and protection and predator/prey relationships.
