To research and investigate the formulation of paint systems for the Lyndhurst mansion in order to better preserve the exterior wooden ornamental features that are essential to its Gothic Revival character. Lyndhurst, a Gothic Revival villa designed by architect Alexander Jackson Davis in 1838, was home to several prominent families, including that of businessman and philanthropist Jay Gould.
