To develop a zoo animal welfare evaluation tool that will asses stress in individual zoo animals. The zoo's research will integrate additional measures of the biological costs of stress in eight "stress-sensitive" endangered or threatened species into ongoing studies by other zoos, and compare and contrast the results between species.
