Log Number: IC-01-11-0150-11

The Asian Art Museum will conduct a comprehensive conservation survey of its pre-20th-century Korean paintings collection. An expert conservator of Korean paintings will collaborate with the museum's conservation and curatorial staff to examine and assess 53 hanging scrolls, hand scrolls, and folding screens. The museum will use the resulting condition reports, treatment proposals, and cost estimates to determine subsequent conservation priorities and funding needs for the Korean paintings, and to assist in the evaluation of these priorities within the context of the museum's greater long-term conservation goals. This project will allow the museum to share masterpieces of Korean art with the public and scholarly communities.
