Log Number: CAGML-248494-OMLS-20
The Selma/Dallas County Museum of History and Archives, also known as The Old Depot Museum, will partner with Edmundite Missions to provide educational experiences for students in local schools that have been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The museum will preserve the position of curator, who will direct the project, developing and implementing the curriculum in conjunction with the program director of Edmundite Missions. Students will visit the museum for programs designed to deepen their knowledge of the area's history and how it connects to today. The museum will subsidize the fee for students in high-needs communities, and staff and volunteers will present virtual programming at Edmundite Missions facilities across four counties. The project is expected to reach 2,000 impoverished students over two years. The museum will monitor and report changes in student test scores resulting from program participation.
