Pueblo of Pojoaque

Log Number: ARPNA-250534-OMLS-22

The Pueblo of Pojoaque in Santa Fe, New Mexico, will implement a project to strengthen and rebuild community ties through innovative digital materials that document the shared history of the Pojoaque Pueblo people. The pandemic highlighted a crucial need for greater online programming, access, and literacy among the Pueblo People, who experienced extreme isolation caused by social distancing and quarantine. Drawing from resources in the Poeh Cultural Center archive, which is dedicated to sustaining Tewa traditions, a series of approximately 2,000 digital files will be created using photographs and still images and will be included in a searchable, publicly accessible database. An interactive webpage on the Poeh website will enable community members to upload digitized images and share stories.
