Chippewa Cree Tribe

Chippewa Cree Tribe (CCT), in partnership with Stone Child College (SCC), will enhance tribal cultural knowledge by increasing the volume of, and community access to, cultural archival materials. This one-year project will increase tribal history and language preservation by: analyzing, categorizing, and archiving an estimated 45,000 pieces of documents and photos; posting regular updates on CCT/SCC social media while promoting the project goals and availability of archived materials; and increasing the professional development among library staff, focusing on specific digital library training. The project will enhance library services and promote interest in community member knowledge and appreciation for tribal heritage and culture, especially by using digital innovation to increase interest and accessibility to new generations of tribal members.
