Sheldon Museum of Art

Log Number: ARPML-251050-OMLS-22

The Sheldon Museum of Art in Lincoln, Nebraska, will increase its online educational resources using the museum’s art collection. As part of its initial focus, the museum will select 100 objects from the collection and provide in-depth information for each item, such as catalogue essays, artist and scholar videos, publication and exhibition history, and artist correspondence. The museum will form a coalition of diverse audiences across cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and multidisciplinary areas of focus to ensure that it includes many voices and perspectives in selecting the 100 objects. In tandem with community outreach, the museum can use this project as a building block to generate robust tools and resources for K–12 educators, customized curricula for higher education instructors, and engagement opportunities for the public. This project addresses the community need for more online resources that has resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic.
