Glen Ellyn Public Library

The Village of Glen Ellyn in Illinois will bring essential services to those adversely affected by COVID-19, including the working poor, homebound seniors, or other vulnerable, medically fragile, and underserved individuals to better make connections between the library and the community. The library will purchase a Wi-Fi-enabled outreach vehicle to provide access to technology in the form of hardware, hotspots, internet connection, iPads, laptops, and software at senior centers, schools, parks, and other community locations. The library also will form an outreach team to offer homework assistance and educational enrichment for youth, provide digital literacy instruction, assist with résumé building, and provide access to job training services. The library will build relationships in order to better understand the needs of its remote members and incorporate their voice within strategic planning and program development.
