Dauphin County Library System
Log Number: ARPML-250808-OMLS-22
The Dauphin County Public Library in central Pennsylvania will reconfigure its branches to meet CDC COVID-19 guidelines and maintain full access to library services. This award will focus on redesigning the Madeline L. Olewine Memorial Library branch in downtown Harrisburg. Updates will include physical enhancements such as specialized curved seating and bookshelves, physical barriers, and staggered computer stations. Currently, 63% of the branch’s public-use computers are out of service to allow for social distancing. This redesign will accommodate distancing while also meeting the increased demand for computer services by job seekers and those needing to access health and human services online. It will also create a safer environment for older adults and those with health concerns to continue accessing library resources.
