Birthplace of Country Music

Log Number: ARPML-250807-OMLS-22

The Birthplace of Country Music, a museum in the Tennessee–Virginia border town of Bristol, will provide training to help staff and volunteers build capacity, enhance their current expertise and confidence, gain new skills, and address challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. The training will include professional development for curatorial staff, organization-wide disaster and first aid training, docent training, and conference or affinity group attendance. These opportunities will offer staff a chance to learn from their peers and make useful connections for the future. The Birthplace of Country Music seeks to perpetuate, promote, and celebrate Bristol’s rich musical heritage; educate and engage audiences worldwide regarding the history, impact, and legacy of the 1927 Bristol Sessions; and create recognition, opportunities, and economic benefit for its local and regional communities.
