The Maryhill Museum of Art in Goldendale, Washington, will develop an online and in-person exhibition of its partner project, “Exquisitely Connected,” for which virtual program participants created artwork that was digitally connected. In 2020, the museum partnered with artist Molly Johnson and Monmouth Arts of Red Bank, NJ, to launch “Exquisitely Connected,” a national visual art community-building experience, as a participatory creative response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This project will exhibit, document, and preserve these works of art that helped to connect artists and audiences of all ages and abilities during a period of intense isolation and anxiety. The museum will analyze the information generated from the project, and staff will present their findings at a professional conference to help other organizations better engage in virtual programming and relationship-building.
