Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art

Log Number: ARPML-250800-OMLS-22

The Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art in Salisbury, Maryland, will present a 2022 exhibit, gallery booklet, virtual tour, in-person artist talk, and community roundtable focused on a new series of artwork. The series, created by local artist Patrick Henry, reflects Black experiences of Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Museum staff members will use regional historical archives and work with the artist, community members, and regional descendants featured in paintings to interpret themes in the gallery and create an accompanying booklet. The museum will offer a virtual tour and make recordings of the in-person artist talk and community roundtable available to the public online. The project will offer artistic and cultural programming in a primarily rural region, and in light of the devastating economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, all in-person and virtual events will be free.
