Dakota Territorial Museum

The Yankton County Historical Society’s Dakota Territorial Museum will increase digital access to their collection and programming for the regional community. Staff will advance online services to make the museum’s historic collection more accessible to researchers and classrooms, An additional full-time staff member will be hired to create and implement a post-COVID programming policy and curriculum. The museum will consult with organizations and educators to review existing historical society exhibitions to assess programmatic relationships to their core curriculum needs and identify opportunities for organizations to create partner programs. The museum will also build community partnerships and alliances with regional schools and non-profit organizations to find ways to work together to better serve communities post-COVID.
