Museum of East Tennessee History

The Museum of East Tennessee History will partner with museum planners and website designers to create a more inclusive approach to history that will inform, underpin, and contribute to sn updated website. The museum realized its online and virtual presence was significantly limited and did not encourage connection, creation, or community building during the pandemic-related museum closures. The project team will initiate dialogue with underserved audiences in urban and rural areas, build relationships, and create objectives for building online resources, hybrid programming, and museum exhibits that better support the area’s diverse audiences. This project addresses the need to reexamine the traditional narratives and the resources provided in the past that was exacerbated during the COVID-19 pandemic.
