City of Dearborn (Dearborn Historical Museum)

Log Number: ARPML-250684-OMLS-22

The Dearborn Historical Museum in Michigan will revitalize its 1833 Commandant’s Quarters to better interpret the diverse history of the Dearborn community. The museum will renovate deteriorating rooms and transition the space from a historical house to a traditional gallery-style museum. Museum staff will research, develop, and install new educational exhibits for seven rooms of the house, each themed around a specific aspect of local history. Taken together, the exhibits will present an inclusive and holistic view of Dearborn’s past. The museum will hire a contractor to design and print professional-quality panels for the exhibits. The resulting exhibitions will allow the Dearborn Historical Museum to better achieve its mission while contributing to the revitalization of the Dearborn community following the COVID-19 pandemic.
