Woodlands Children's Museum

Log Number: ARPML-250523-OMLS-22

The Woodlands Children’s Museum near Houston, Texas, will provide no-cost field trips to pre-K and kindergarten students in 20 economically disadvantaged elementary schools. These field trips will address the lack of access to out-of-school learning for children in underserved communities, as well as learning loss experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic. Exhibits at the museum are designed to foster creativity, imagination, critical thinking, social skills, cooperation, role playing, spatial reasoning, motor movement, and other important skills for early learners. While at the museum, students also will participate in an art project that is curated for each specific class in coordination with the teachers and classroom objectives. The program will provide transportation to and from the museum to remove potential funding barriers.
