National Yiddish Book Center

The Yiddish Book Center in Amherst, Massachusetts rescues, translates and disseminates Yiddish books and broadens understanding of modern Jewish literature and culture. The Center has saved more than one million Yiddish volumes, often recovered at the last minute from homes, demolition sites and dumpsters, and it has made its collection available online at no cost. This valuable resource, together with innovative educational programs for students of all ages, are helping to introduce this once endangered literature and culture to new generations.
