The 2022 AASLH Annual Conference was held September 14-17 in Buffalo, New York. The conference theme, Right Here, Right Now: The Power of Place, is drawn from “Power of Place,” one of the five themes that AASLH has identified for the 250th anniversary of the United States and laid out in its Making History at 250: The Field Guide for the Semiquincentennial.

The Institute of Museum and Library Services presented a special dialogue with Jeff Rosen of the Constitution Center led by IMLS Director Crosby Kemper III, drawing from dedicated study of American history, civics, and a commitment to civil discourse. This dialogue will explore the impact of social media, polling, and other technological and political forces that have shaped our knowledge of America’s history to address the fundamental question of how we move forward together as a nation in the face of these challenging dynamics. This presentation is an official activity of the IMLS America250: All People, All Places, All Stories initiative.
