Presented by The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers and Theater of War Productions, Poetry for the Pandemic is an evening of readings and a dialogue among distinguished poets and young poets of tomorrow—a chorus of diverse voices exploring the transformative power of words. Actors Bill Murray and Tracie Thoms will appear alongside the current 2020 National Student Poets as well as alumni and other distinguished poets, including former U.S. Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera, on November 12 at 7pm EST. The event will be facilitated by Dr. Joshua Bennett and will feature readings from Murray, Thoms, Herrera, Mahogany L. Browne, Molly McCully Brown, Patricia Smith, and the Class of 2020 National Student Poets. The readings will be followed by a discussion.
