Walker River Paiute Tribe

The Walker River Tribal Library Program will improve accessibility to educational resources; support the development of projects to enhance literacy, college, and career pathways; and connect traditional language preservation to a culturally based curriculum for students of all ages. The program will support staff to expand outreach and partnerships of the library both within and beyond their reservation in Nevada, aimed at increasing academic and career achievement. In addition, staff will collaborate with other departments to develop a plan to preserve the Paiute language for future generations. Walker River Tribal members both on and off the reservation, as well as surrounding communities, will benefit from this initiative.
