New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs

The New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs will adapt its operations and practices to the digital world by providing professional development opportunities for staff and building cohesive messaging across multiple digital platforms. The department will implement a multifaceted project facilitated by expert consultants that assesses current practices and produce a report of recommendations with strategies for moving forward with workflow improvements affecting all divisions. In partnership with New Mexico Highlands University, the project will also include best practices workshops, university-level training in digital media technologies for key staff, and an opportunity for museum staff members to partner with graduate-level systems design students to produce four prototype digital projects to enhance visitor experiences. The university will also lead an in-depth seminar on emerging technologies for museum leaders.
