The Lux Art Institute will begin an "Education Expansion Planning Project," which will strategize the future of education programs and address the issue of how to best utilize additional space made possible by a recently acquired building on the Lux campus. Lux will hire a museum consultant to conduct an evaluation of the current education program and research the market potential for expanding the program. The Artist Pavilion, opened for programming in 2007, allows school classes, community groups, and the general public to observe and engage with artists-in-residence that live and work onsite, thus gaining special insight into the creative process. Lux also offers onsite art education and instruction, including after-school programs, summer art camps, and artist talks and lectures. The "Education Expansion Planning Project" will expand available education programs and more than triple the number of people served annually by these programs.
